Any suggestions to get power to my light bar?
I have a Federal Signal jet stream light bar for my 05 Chevy impala, I have 3 other lights and a siren on my car however my light bar is not getting enough power to it. I currently have it direct wired to my battery, but it seems like the light bar is not as bright as it should be. I'm looking for a power supply to boost my light bars performance, and I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or input on where I can find a power supply without spending a lot of money, I have contacted the company but just curious if there are other answers to this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thank you.
How heavy is the wiring to the light bar? If it's not heavy enough you'll lose power as heat. You should be using a relay to switch devices like this as well, with the shortest possible power wiring. If it's hooked up to the battery correctly and you're still not getting enough power, you need a bigger battery or alternator.
